The Fernie Mountain Bike Club in conjunction with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) would like to you invite you to join us for an upcoming celebration of mountian biking in the Elk Valley, August 9 to 12, 2007. In an effort to raise the awareness of the importance of mountian biking in the community and to promote responsible mountain biking practices, the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will be in Fernie, August 9th thru 12th, 2007 to talk trails, teach people proper trailbuilding techniques, and spend quality time digging in the dirt. The visit is one of 70 stops throughout North America on the 2007 schedule.

Whether you are an avid rider, active member of another trail user group, local business or government leader, or concerned landowner or manager, we all have a lot to learn about mountian biking and its impact on our economy, our quality of life, our community culture, our fitness and our environment. If you are not interested in developing you own trail building skills but would like to learn more, please feel free to stop by the FMBC Social on Saturday, August 11 at 8pm at the Grand Central Hotel. FMBC members are invited to our monthly meeting and Club Care Night on Thursday night at the Central.

Cost for the Subaru / IMBA Trailbuilding School, including lunch and IMBA's Trail Solutions Book (payable at the workshop):

8:00pm: FMBC Meeting / Club Care Night - Central Hotel (FMBC Members Only)

Saturday, August 11

8:30am: Subaru / IMBA Trailbuilding School - College of the Rockies / Fernie Campus (must be pre-registered with IMBA...go.imba.com/fernie)
8:00pm: FMBC Social - Central Hotel (all welcome)

Sunday, August 12
9:00am: Subaru / IMBA Trailbuilding School - trailhead
1:30pm: Workshop Ride

The award-winning Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew program includes two full-time, professional trail experts who travel North America year-round, leading IMBA Trailbuilding Schools, meeting with government officials and land managers, and working with IMBA-affiliated groups to improve mountain biking opportunities. IMBA's Crews have led more than 1,000 trail projects since the program debuted in 1997.
