Fernie Mountain Bike Park Needs your Help!

The Fernie Mountain Bike Club is excited to announce that it will be building and maintaining the Fernie Mountain Bike Skills Progression and Dirt Jump Park. For this park to realize its full potential we are seeking support in many areas.
The park will be created for public use and will be designed for varying levels of riders from beginners wanting to try log riding in a safe environment to experts looking to hone their jumping skills. The park will consist of a jump track with berms and a rolling series of table tops of varying sizes. It will host various free-riding obstacles including log rides, teeter-totters and trail riding obstacles.
We have been working closely with the City of Fernie for over 6 months to find a suitable piece of property for this exciting new city amenity, and recently we have entered into an agreement where the city will be leasing the Fernie Mountain Bike Club a large parcel of land adjacent to the Aquatic Centre for $1/year.
The club has hired Hoots Consulting services to aid in the design and construction of the park. Jay Hoots of Hoots Consulting has designed over 30 similar projects in municipalities across British Columbia. We are excited to be working with Jay on this project.
We are writing today seeking support in the building of the park. Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. See below for areas where we require assistance:
- Many truckloads of screened loam with high clay content. (Dirt)
- 1 day Bulldozer w/operator for site grading
- 5 days of excavator w/operator
- 3 days with bobcat or small excavator w/operators
- Concrete for signage footings
- Various dimensions of Lumber and fastening hardware
- Volunteer man hours for construction phase (late July)
Cash donation support is also gratefully accepted
Supporters donating cash or in-kind items in support of the Fernie Mountain Bike Park will be recognized;
