The Coal Disco trail work is now finished. There now is 9 kms of uninterrupted single track including 3 new bridges. Materials, steel stringers and cedar decking were flown in by Bighorn Helicopters 2 weeks ago.

This section of trail will be used on day 1 of the 2010 Transrockies. This is 100% classic x-county riding.

From Fernie start on the Old Stumpy Trail and take a right at the yellow coal discovery trail sign. Keep following the yellow signs most junctions are marked. About 6 km out there the new section takes off to the right ( this junction is not signed yet, if you miss it and you hit the powerline, turn around and back track a couple hundred meters ) The new single track ends on the Ridgemont road 9km from town.
