Castle Rock's Trail

Been a lot of good trail work going on on both sides of the valley the last few weeks.
Nice to see so many people getting active with building trails. I haven't seen the Slunt Trail yet, but I hear it's first class, maybe try to do it on the weekend if the weather holds.
Castle Rock's Trail, off of Hyper Ventilation is also nearing completion. We've had some really productive work parties the last few weekends. This trail will be the first phase of the Castle rock trail system. We are planning a double black downhill on the north ridge of Castle as well. There are some really good possibilities in the future ie: maybe a downhill from the microwave to the Castle?? This would be a huge undertaking as there would be several kilometers of trail to build. But if there is an interest and lots of bodies it's definitely doable.

We pretty well worked all
We pretty well worked all the same days as you guys were out slunting.
A microwave to castle trail would be awesome but is quite a contract...it would take lots of manpower, we should all get together this winter and get a plan put together and make it happen, without many hands it won't happen. I talked to dirt diggler Derrick about this project before, he thinks its a great idea but wants to finish his trail first.
If the weather is good we're gonna hit the castle again this weekend, not sure which day, if anyone would like to come the extra help would be more than welcomed. I'll put out a post when I find out if we're going and on which day. Hope to see you there!

i would love to help out and work with the Fernie Trails and Ski Touring Club to make this dream a reality... I would have loved to help them with the castle rock trail as well, but never heard anything about work parties..

Great work guys on the trail.....I think all us trail builders need to sit down and get a plan together to make the Microwave to Castle trail. This undertaking is realistic, a lot of work, a lot of fun, and would also take a lot collaboration to happen. I bet it's 100% possible with all the great motivation going around the valley right now!
any thoughts on this ?
