7th ANNUAL FERNIE TEARS & GEARS – SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 4th, 2016

1Welcome to the 7th Annual Fernie Tears & Gears! For those of you familiar with our September Mountain Duathlon, there are a few exciting changes to this years’ race. For those of you new to our race, we can promise you a great race experience on the beautiful trails of Fernie, BC. Plus fantastic atmosphere, prizes and a whole lot of fun.

Do you like riding bikes and want a weekly meetup with likeminded women? FWoW is for you! 

Come out and enjoy a ride with a fun group of women! All rides are split into ability groups based on group leaders available. Must be an FMBC member and sign waiver. Please have membership before first ride. Rides generally run around 2 hours and are followed up with a social gathering at a local watering hole.

Meeting place The Guide's Hut, but may vary depending on trail choices. Trails are chosen ahead of time and posted on Facebook and in weekly newsletter. 

Please join the Facebook group Fernie Women on Wheels for up to date information including time, meeting place changes & cancellations due to weather.

Little Critter Bike Race
Body: 

Second Monday of every month. 

Criterium style rides where competitors complete as many laps of a short course as possible in the 40 minute time limit. For every lap of the course completed the rider puts his/her mname in for a draw prize. Geared to riders 10 and under. (Training wheels are not appropriate. Run bikes and tag along bikes are okay)

SIX IN THE STIX Mountain Biking Festival

September 17-18, 2016 @ Cranbrook Community Forest, B.C.

Saturday Kids & Youth Stix races for cyclists 2-6 y/o on pavement & 5-14 y/o on trails

Sunday 6-hour x-country for solos & relay teams and 1ap Stix on flowy singletrack trails

Highroller
Body:

Celebrate the season with the local community by riding the trails all day. Collect stamps and get dealt a poker hand, highest hands automatically win prizes, the rest are door prizes. Dinner, a beer and tshirt are included. Details TBD

THE HIGH ROLLER

Fernie's Annual End of Season Poker Ride

Start Time: 9:00 a.m. 

Registration and Waiver Signing: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the Royal

After party time: 5:00 p.m.

Where: Start, finish and after party at the Royal. Delicious dinner provided by Infinitea.

 

Wear your best biking shirt to the after party! Any shirt to do with biking - the best biking shirt gets to drink free until the FBC keg is gone.

Cost: $45 until September 20, $50 after * (includes a fun day of riding sweet Fernie single track, 2016 Highroller Hat, after party dinner, one free FBC beer)

 

* You must be a FMBC member!

Sign up early please! 

Route will be announced shortly, but it is similar in distance and elevation to other years.  There will be a Low Roller route too.
