Something a bit different for this week. I have received several requests for an more challenging ride that very strong keen beginners can do at a slow pace, walk when needed etc. This week we will go to Project 9. This is a black diamond ride (everything else we have done so far has been blue). http://bikefernie.ca/trail/project-9. Please note the time change due to the sun going down earlier!
Difficulty: black diamond, intermediates can do this. The climb is technically easy (mostly double track), but physically demanding with steep ups. Everything can be walked. The top part of the down is the most challenging with technical sections that can be walked. After that it travels through a rock garden and then is very flowy, with a fun rollercoaster section and several burmy turns. Depending on numbers we will split up, for speed purposes.
Duration: ~2 hours
Meeting: CHANGE OF START TIME/LOCATION 6:00pm at lower Island Lake Lodge parking lot, by the winter closure gate. Please come early if you have yet to sign a waiver. Contact Heather at email@example.com with any questions.
