Hello folks. New to Fernie scene but been riding for years. Great trails. I met a lot of very nice people, both on the trails and around town at the various shops. All glad to help out the new guy.

I'd hoped to do more riding than I did but things got in the way like work, my daughter's wedding, etc. Any shut down at the mine translated into me jumping in my car (with my bike) and heading west to Cumberland,BC (where I actually live) to kiss my wife. I'd also hoped to do some racing but I was away for the whole toonie series and seems every upcoming event falls on a work day :( Looks like a great time. Btw, If you are heading to Vancouver Island, be sure to take your bike and check out the vast network of trails in Cumberland. Lots of XC and DH.

Seems some nice people wanted me to pick up my membership stickers. Guess I should actually pay for my membership, eh? So, I sent it off this morning. My attitude, I guess, was that I pay already, in gas, getting down to Fernie from Elkford :P And, I didn't know how many times I'd get down there. But, I did do quite a bit more riding that I expected, on some great, well maintained trails. So I'm only too happy to cough up the measly 20.

Gotta have some coffee, now, skype the wife, and get my bike ready for some riding today. I See the sun came out after the monsoon this morning. See you on the trails.
